Sage advice for fall kitchen remodels
by Dee Long - LA Food Examiner, September 15, 2009

The recession is certainly making the kitchen the heart of the home once again. With a resurgence of interest in cooking and entertaining at home at an all time high, you may be looking at your current kitchen space and thinking "remodel."
Don't do a thing until you've read "Kitchen Design with Cooking in Mind" by Los Angeles' own kitchen design expert Donald Silvers (www.donsilvers.com). "When people tell me 'I hate to cook' " , reports Silvers, he takes that as code for "I hate to cook in my kitchen." That's why Silvers, who's consulted on and designed over a thousand kitchen projects as well as being a professional chef himself, offers advice guaranteed to deliver "a kitchen that is beautiful and that cooks beautifully."
Silvers companion book, "Kitchen Appliances 101":( What works, what doesn't and why) is equally revealing and can help you make the best choice when it comes to outfitting your newly designed kitchen with appliances that will be more than just good looking.
